Biography

Prof. Carl acquired his extensive specialist knowledge and his clinical and operational experience in the entire spectrum of urology, including robotic interventions, mainly during his training and subsequent work at the Urological Clinic and Polyclinic of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), Großhadern Campus. He is a recognized expert in the treatment of prostate, kidney and testicular cancer and is one of the surgeons with the most experience in the treatment of bladder cancer both at home and abroad. At the Grosshadern Clinic, he was Senior Consultant and Head of the Bladder Tumor Clinic and the LMU Bladder Tumor Center. Many years of scientific work at LMU and a year of fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco, UCSF, in the USA, led him to habilitation in 2010 and the title of professor in urological oncology in 2014. In 2015, he received the position of associate professor of urology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. In 2019, he was appointed Chief Physician of the Nymphenburg Urology Clinic and Prostate Center at the Barmherzige Brüder Hospital in Munich.
