Clinical focus

Phlebology / Phlebosurgery: outpatient varicose vein removal, plastic reconstruction of vein valves, endovenous treatment of varicose veins (radiofrequency ablation, laser), endovenous adhesive technique (VenaSeal™), sclerotherapy of reticular varicose veins and spider veins, treatment of leg ulcers (ulcus cruris), treatment thrombosis and lymphedema.
Arterial surgery: carotid artery (A. carotis detachment), reopening of arm, pelvic and leg arteries (peeling, bypass, balloon/stent angioplasty), aortic and peripheral arterial aneurysms, dialysis and apheresis bypass surgery, treatment of diabetic foot syndrome.

Biography

Prof. Brandl has been a vascular surgeon since 1990 and a phlebologist recognized by the Bavarian Medical Association since 1999.

In his clinical and scientific work, professor is engaged in the study of wound healing processes after vascular operations. After undergoing surgical training at the Groshadern Clinic and many years of managerial activity at the University Hospitals in Regensburg and Munich (University Hospital Rechts der Isar), since 2002 he has been the Chief Physician of the Clinic for Vascular Surgery at the University Hospital Munich-Schwabing.

Since 2012 prof. Brandl accepts patients with specialized problems (vascular surgery and phlebology) in his own private practice. Surgical operations are carried out by professor at the Barmherzig Brüder Hospital in Munich, where he is head of the department of vascular surgery.
