Clinical focus

General: desire to have children (IVF, EXI), hormonal imbalance, comprehensive solution to problems with the inability to bear a child (miscarriages), abortion, fertility preservation.
Specialization: ovarian function and the influence of microelements and vitamins on it,
mechanisms of the embryo in the uterus (implantation) and hormonal and immunological processes in early pregnancy.

Biography

In 1998, Christian J. Thaler was appointed professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University Hospital in Munich, where he heads the center of hormones and fertility.

Prior to his current position, he worked in renowned clinics and institutes in Germany and abroad – for example, the Center of the Immunology of Reproduction and Transplantation, Indianapolis, USA, the Center of Assisted Reproduction, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Aberdeen Medical School , UK, and at the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology at the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Professor Thaler was Vice President of the American Society for Reproductive Immunology (ASRI), President of the German Society for Reproductive Medicine (DGRM) and member of the board of the German Menopause Society. He is currently First Vice-President of the German Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics and a member of the board of the working group of the University Centers for Reproductive Medicine (URZ) and the umbrella organization for reproductive biology and medicine.

He is a member of the advisory board of the German Menopause Society. Thaler is an elected member of the Zurich Circle, a German-speaking expert committee on special issues in the field of gynecological endocrinology and hormonal contraception, and an appointed member of the advisory committee on “assisted reproduction” of the Bavarian State Ministry of Health.

Professor Thaler is authorized to provide further training with a focus on gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine, and he is an examiner for the Bavarian State Medical Association in this field.

He is an assessor for the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in Brussels and a Fellow in Clinical Reproductive Immunology (FCRI) of the American Society for Reproductive Immunology.

Since 2015, Professor Thaler has been a Consultant in Reproductive Endocrinology at Songjin’ao Hospital, a large private hospital in Wuhan, China, specializing in all areas of family planning, assisted reproductive technology and pregnancy.

He is the author or co-author of numerous books and book chapters, as well as a large number of scientific publications.
