Clinical focus

Facial plastic surgery, especially functional and aesthetic surgery of the nose (septorhinoplasty/rhinoplasty). Minimally invasive sinus surgery. Surgery for head and neck tumors, including reconstructive surgeries. Rehabilitative and hearing-improving ear surgery, including cochlear implants for severe hearing loss and deafness.

Biography
  • Studying medicine at the Gutenberg University Mainz, internships in London (Royal National Hospital TNE), San Francisco and Trier, surgical course at the University of Virginia, USA.
  • Since 1995 Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Wagner worked at the otolaryngology clinic of the University of Tübingen and at the Gutenberg University in Mainz. Appointed as chief physician.
  • Since 2005, he has been the head of an audiological laboratory specializing in studies of olivo-cochlear effects.
  • In 2007 – research work with Dr. Charles M. Lieberman, Eaton-Peabody Laboratory, Harvard Medical School. Clinical internship with Dr. Dean Toriumi, University of Chicago, specialist in plastic surgery of the nose (rhinoplasty).
  • In 2008 – certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, reviewed by the American Board of FPRS, Washington, DC.
  • 2009 – clinical internship with Dr. Mark L. Urken, Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, specializing in tumor surgery and plastic reconstruction of the head and neck.
  • 2009-2012 – Managing senior physician of the ENT clinic in Tübingen.
  • 2012-2014 – head physician of the clinic of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery of the St. Anthony and St. Joseph Clinic Network in Wuppertal.
  • Since 2012 – Associate Professor at the University of Tübingen.
  • Since April 1, 2014 – head physician of the department of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at the Schwabing Clinic in Munich.
