Clinical focus
Professor Gollwitzer is a specialist in the field of implantation of artificial hip and knee joint prostheses, as well as the entire spectrum of modern joint-preserving surgery of the hip joint.
The direction of his clinical and surgical work is the treatment of osteoarthritis of the hip and knee joints, hip arthroscopy (hip joint mirroring), minimally invasive and gentle hip arthroplasty using the AMIS method and individual partial and total knee arthroplasty, implantation (custom-made) knee prostheses and partial knee prostheses, hip and knee replacement, cartilage transplantation, hip deformity correction.
Biography
- After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the Technical University of Munich in 2000, Dr. Gollwitzer worked in the clinic of orthopedics and sports orthopedics at the University Hospital Rechts der Isar in Munich, then underwent advanced training in the department of traumatology and reconstructive surgery of a specialized trauma clinic in Murnau and an internship at the hospital for special surgery , New York, USA.
- 2007 – Head physician at the Clinic of Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics at the Klinikum Rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich.
- 2008 defended his doctorate and became a lecturer at the Technical University of Munich.
- 2008 – 2017 Head of the Department of Endoprosthetics and Reconstructive Surgery of the Hip and Knee Joints at the Clinic of Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics Klinikum Rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich.
- 2015 – appointment as associate professor at the Technical University of Munich.
- Since 2012, Chief Physician of the Department of Hip Surgery and Knee Replacement at the ATOS Clinic in Munich.
- Since 2017, Chief Physician of Hip Surgery at the Surgical Clinic Munich-Bogenhausen.
Author of scientific papers and member of numerous professional medical societies, in particular the President of the German Society of Hip Specialists.
