Allergology, occupational skin diseases, infectious diseases: infectious skin diseases caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites.

Classical dermatology: e.g. treatment of acne and rosacea, prevention of skin cancer, removal of skin tumors, skin and sexually transmitted diseases, treatment of hyperhidrosis, removal of moles, treatment of nail fungus.

Phlebology: venous sclerotherapy, laser surgery, treatment of spider veins and varicose veins.

Prof. Dr. Ring began his professional career as an immunologist in the field of transplantation research (Prof. Walter Brendel Institute for Surgical Research, Medical University of Munich), where he completed his habilitation in the subject “Anaphylactoid reactions” in 1976.

This was followed by a research fellowship in the USA in allergology before he devoted himself full-time to dermatology with further training at LMU as a student of Professor Otto Braun-Falco.

From 1995 to 2014, Professor Johannes Ring was Director of the Biederstein Clinic for Dermatology and Allergy at the Technical University of Munich, after which he headed the University Clinic for Dermatology and Allergy in Hamburg for five years.

His clinical and scientific focus is on inflammatory and infectious skin diseases, neurodermatitis, anaphylaxis (allergic shock), drug intolerance, food allergies, new therapeutic modalities, particularly immunotherapy and tolerance, genetic and environmental influences on allergies, itch research and emerging research . methods for diagnosing allergies by blood.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Ring’s scientific work includes more than 600 original articles and 400 reviews. He has published many books or written them as sole author, the most recent of which is Neurodermatitis – Atopic Eczema (Thieme, Stuttgart, 2012). His short textbook Applied Allergology (Urban & Vogel, Munich), in three German editions and one English edition, influenced generations of young doctors.

Prof. dr dr. Ring is a member of many professional medical societies and unions.
