Clinical focus

As head of the department, Bernhard Haslinger heads a special outpatient clinic for the treatment of Parkinson’s syndrome and other movement disorders, as well as an outpatient clinic for botulinum toxin therapy.

Neurological movement disorders are a group of diseases characterized by impaired movement functions, usually with depletion or excess of involuntary and voluntary movements ( so-called hypokinetic and hyperkinetic movement disorders) or impaired motor control.

These include, on the one hand, Parkinson’s syndromes:

• Parkinson’s disease (MP)
• Multiple system atrophy (MSA)
• Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP)
• Corticobasal degeneration (CBD)
• Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB),
• as well as various diseases with tremor, diseases of the dystonia group, chorea, ataxia, spasticity and restless legs syndrome (restless legs syndrome).
