Metabolic diseases (metabolic disorders): phenylketonuria, galactosemia, urea cycle disorders, fatty acid oxidation disorders, glycogenosis, severe familial lipid metabolism disorders.

Biography

Prof. Parkhofer studied medicine in Mons (Belgium), Munich (Germany) and Seattle (USA), followed by a residency in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetology and internal intensive care at the University Hospital Munich, LMU Munich.

In addition to his scientific and administrative work, Prof. Parkhofer continues to see patients from all areas of metabolic disease.

Prof. Parkhofer is Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Medical Clinic II of the University Hospital (Ludwig Maximilian University). Since 2003, he has been the head of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism. His clinical and scientific activities are focused on the study of metabolism.
