Prof. Dr. med. Lars E. French

Lars French E., Prof. Dr. med.

Chief physician of the Department of Dermatology and Allergology at the University Hospital Thalkirchener Strasse in Munich.
Clinical focus

Therapy using UV or laser radiation. Various ultraviolet light treatments (phototherapy) are used, sometimes in combination with baths. They are especially suitable for the treatment of psoriasis or neurodermatitis. Special radiation equipment is available for people whose arms or legs are affected only by a skin condition

The main focus in the surgical field is the modern treatment of skin tumors. Complete tumor removal (micrographically guided surgery/MKC or 3D histology) is of particular importance. The resulting tissue defects are closed using individually adapted plastic surgery techniques. The goal is optimal function and aesthetics. In particular, areas such as the nose, ear and lips, as well as defects near joints, often require complex treatment for reconstruction.

Spectrum of diseases: acne, rosacea, immediate allergic diseases (eg, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, food allergies, drug hypersensitivity, insect venom anaphylaxis), drug reactions (eg, drug rash, DRESS, Stevens-Johnson syndrome), autoimmune diseases (scleroderma, lupus erythematosus), occupational skin diseases (eczema diseases, white skin cancer), blistering diseases (pemphigus vulgaris, bullous pemphigoid), eczema diseases such as neurodermatitis or allergic contact eczema, diseases of the anus and rectum (proctology), genodermatoses (rare congenital skin diseases, often combined with other diseases), hair diseases, skin tumors (benign and malignant) and their precursors, skin diseases in children, and infectious skin diseases; sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV or syphilis; psoriasis, environmental medical diseases, venous disorders (phlebological disorders), warts.
