Biography

Ms prof. Margitta Retz completed her studies in medicine and human biology at the Philipps University of Marburg. Training as a specialist in urology took place at the Christian-Albrecht University in Kiel and at the university clinics in the Saarland. This was followed by work abroad at the Mayo School of Medicine, Minnesota, USA, at the Cantonal Hospital of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and at the University Hospital in Mansoura, Egypt.

Prof. Retz was a research assistant at the University of California, San Francisco, Dept. anatomy, and as a lecturer at the UCSF School of Medicine in San Francisco. Since 2006, she has been working as a senior physician in the department and polyclinic of urology at the Klinikum Rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich.

She is also a Board Member of the Urological Oncology Working Group of the German Cancer Society and 1st Chairman of the German Bladder Cancer Research Association e.V. Heads the Cancer Center for Penile Cancer. Author of numerous scientific articles and reports.
